THE BOOK
The book provides some useful insights into issues in management of the Nigerian economy in the twenty first century. These issues attracted much concern in the last quarter of the last century, yet the fundamental challenges have remained seemingly intractable. This necessitates more research to resolve these unresolved issues. The twenty- two chapters in this book address some of these issues and proffer some useful public policy measures that can be implemented in the management of the Nigerian economy with the goal achieving sustainable development of the economy. The book is divided into six parts. Part one provides the general introduction to the book. Part two addresses issues in public sector and fiscal policy. Part three focuses on external sector and debt. Part four covers the issues of political economy, economic growth and finance, while part five focuses on real sector of the economy. Lastly, part six addresses issues of poverty, gender and environment.
