Cyril Obiajulu MOKWENYE is a Professor of French, formerly with the Department of Foreign Languages, University of Benin, Nigeria. Educated at Government College, Ibadan, King’s College, Lagos, he obtained the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in French from the University of Ibadan, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile-Ife, and a Ph.D. from the University of Bordeaux, in France.

Professor Mokwenye was, at different times between 1991 and 2003, the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Benin and was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the same University, between 2006 and 2008. He was Editor, Nigerian Journal of the Humanities, journal of the Faculty of Arts, University of Benin (2002 -2006), Editor, Le Bronze, journal of the Department of Foreign Languages, (2011-2018), Editor, Raneuf, Journal of the University French Teachers’ Association of Nigeria, (2015-2019) and Editor, UIAA Bulletin of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association, Edo State Branch (since 2014).

Professor Mokwenye, who has been on the Editorial Board of the African Journal of Reproductive Health, as the official Translator of the journal’s Abstracts since 1998, is also an Editorial Consultant to several Journal and Book publishing outfits.

He is currently engaged in offering services to publishing and printing companies in the areas of translation, proof-reading, editing and critical evaluation of articles, books and manuscripts of different types.


Barnabas Aigbojie Agbonifoh is a Professor of Marketing. He obtained a First Class (Honours) Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1975, a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos in 1978 and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Business Administration from the University of Benin in 1986. He is also a holder of the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science of the University of Benin (1994).

Professor Agbonifoh has over forty years of combined university teaching and research experience at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Benin, Benin City and Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State. At the University of Benin, he served in several capacities including those of Manager, University of Benin Press; Head, Department of Business Administration; Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Consultant to the University of Benin Strategic Planning Unit and representative of Senate in the Honorary Awards Committee.

Outside the University of Benin, he has been Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Marketing (Edo/Delta Chapter); National Secretary of The Academy of Management Nigeria, and Vice President and President of The Academy of Management Nigeria. He has been Editor/Editor-in-Chief of several learned academic journals including the Nigeria Journal of Business Administration (published by the Department of Business Administration, University of Benin), Nigerian Management Review (published by the Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Benin), FUO Journal of Management Sciences (published by Federal University Otuoke), NIMN Journal of Marketing (published by the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria) and Academy of Management Journal (published by The Academy of Management Nigeria).

He has successfully supervised twenty Ph.D. students and has been External Examiner to over twenty universities in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Swaziland.

With over seventy publications in local and international journals, he has co-authored/ edited seven text books. As a Management Consultant, he has consulted for several reputable organisations locally and internationally.

Professor Agbonifoh is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN); Fellow, Institute of Mass Communication and Information Management; and Fellow, the Academy of Management Nigeria. He has served as Chairman of the Education and Training Committee of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Examiners of same institute and Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

Anthony Ekata Ogbeibu is a Professor of Environmental Science (Hydrobiology/Fisheries & Pollution Studies) in the Department of Animal & Environmental Biology, University of Benin, Nigeria. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Zoology (Hydrobiology/Fisheries) from the University of Benin, Postgraduate Certificate in Environmental Education from the University of Strathclyde, and Specialist Training in Applied Environmental Education in Windhoek, Namibia.

He has for the past 29 years been imparting knowledge in the University of Benin and serving the society in research design, biostatistical analysis and environmental consultancy. He has served the University of Benin, Professional Organizations, the Government of Edo State, National Universities Commission (NUC), Oil and Gas industry and Non-governmental Organizations in various capacities Head of Department/Chairman of Committees, Fellow, Director, Honourable Commissioner, Chairman of Accreditation Panels, and Technical Consultant on Health, Safety and Environment. He is the Editor in Chief of Tropical Freshwater Biology, an International Journal, and also on the Editorial Board of many local and international journals.

Prof. Ogbeibu is a recipient of numerous Awards/Prizes, including the School Prize for overall best student in Emu Grammar School (1978), the Departmental Prize for the Best Student in Zoology (1983), Distinguished Alumnus Award by the University of Benin Alumni Association (UBAA) Worldwide, Students Union Government (SUG) Award of Honour for Academic Excellence, International Scholarship Award by World Council of Science Editors in Seattle, USA, and the Ambassador for Peace Award by the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace (United Nations).

Ven. Prof Osamwonyi’s academic qualifications include B.Sc. Business Administration 1978 [ABU, Zaria], M.Sc. Economics 1981 [University of Benin], Ph.D Economics 1984 [University of Benin], Post Graduate Diploma with Distinction 1988 & Advanced Post Graduate Diploma with Distinction 1991 [Housing, Planning & Building] Institute of Urban and Housing Development, Rotterdam. He also has a Diploma in Theology 2005 [Ezekiel College of Theology, Ekpoma]. He is a Central Bank of Nigeria certified Trainer of Microfinance Bank Operators [2010], and NDIC Trained the Trainer for DIS courses [2015 and 2017].

His professional working experience covers decades in banking and finance, mortgage finance practice, teaching, consultancy and research. He has held numerous positions in the University system including Head, Department of Banking & Finance, and Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences. He is a Professor of Finance. He has taught with the Dept. of Banking & Finance, University of Benin City, from August 2001 till date. From 2004 to 2012, he was a Visiting Professor in Financial Economics to the Collaborative PhD programme of African Economic Research Consortium, Nairobi, Kenya. He has been an external examiner to various institutions both local and foreign. Before his University of Benin appointment he taught at Igbinedion University, where he held various appointments including Head of Department of Business Administration, and later Ag. Dean, College of Arts & Social Sciences. Between 1994 and 2000 he was the Managing Director/Management. Consultant, Osatech Consulting, Kaduna. Between 1991 and 1994, he was the General Manager/Chief Executive of Happy Home Savings & Loans Limited. Prior to that he was the Senior Manager and Head Research and Planning, Federal Mortgage Bank (1983-1991). After teaching in many other institutions His professional affiliations include membership of the Nigerian Economic Society, Nigerian Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Bankers, and the Academy of Management Nigeria where he is a fellow. He has done extensive consultancy especially for the private sector in housing finance and urban development, as well as for the capital market. He was the Chairman of The Nigerian Private Sector Committee on Implementation of Mortgage-Backed Securities in Nigeria; Member, Capital Market sub-committee on special products. He is a Venerable/Archdeacon of the Anglican Church, Benin Diocese, and current Vicar of All Souls’ Anglican Church, GRA.

He has authored and co – authored four books and over a hundred journal articles. He has supervised about 40 doctoral dissertations (in Finance, Operations Research, Management, Economics and Accounting), and numerous MBA and M.Sc. theses. He has assessed over 15 professorial candidates for both local and foreign universities. He teaches in the Ph.D programmes of both Business Administration and Finance, M.Sc. in various functional areas of Management, MBA, Masters in Banking & Finance, MSc Accounting, as well as undergraduate programmes. He has held chairmanship of various boards and committees at the University. He has edited many journals including Security Market Journal of Securities & Exchange Commission, Journal of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Federal Mortgage Bank Journal and Statistical Review, Nigeria Journal of Business Administration, Management Sciences Review, EKSU Journal of the Management Scientists, and Accounting Journal of the Department of Accounting. Membership of Editorial Board of the International Journal of Financial Research, Sciedu Press. Toronto, Canada; and Editor till date, Finance & Banking Review.

He holds membership of Council, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, and he is the current Chairman, UNIBEN Micro Finance Bank. Areas of interest and experience are hardcore Finance, Quantitative Analysis, and Economics. He is married with children.
