This text presents some of the notable cases examined in this centre in the last 6 years, since the acquisition of digital radiography and image archiving system. Some of the cases have been selected for their uniqueness, others for their frequency but each highlights the power of observation and logical analysis using basic radiological tools for the most part.
Each case is presented with the description of the available images on presentation in our facility as requested by the referring physician followed by differential diagnoses consideration and further imaging and management direction advice as would be the case in a normal clinical setting when evaluating a clinical problem. The continuing relevance of basic radiologic tools including plain films, contrast examinations and fluoroscopy is demonstrated and which remains of utmost importance in this part of the world with rising poverty and technological as well as infrastructural challenges. Furthermore each case serves as a focus for stimulating the reader to deeper and wider academic inquiry.
A didactic section on musculoskeletal tumours and tumour-like conditions using the multi-modality approach has been added by one of the authors practicing in the United States of America.
The website – https://www.stbridgetsradiology.com serves as a portal for the continuous upload of notable cases examined at the centre as they present on a regular basis.

This is the International Edition of the book, Questions and Answers in Anaesthesia and Intensive care first published in 2011. The responses from the users of the book have been very encouraging and rewarding at the same time.
This International Edition is a result of my experiences from teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in Anaesthesia and Critical Care across Nigeria, East and Southern Africa. Many new questions and answers have been added to provide a broader scope for the undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. In addition, mnemonics have been incorporated into virtually all sections and answers in this new book.
The suggestions of the users of the first Edition of the book have been graciously received and incorporated. Some of these suggestions include a robust index session at the end of the book and inclusion of some topics that were not in the earlier edition.
It is hoped that the reader will find this Edition very useful in the preparation of both undergraduate and postgraduate examinations. Anaesthesia practitioners, lecturers and examiners will hopefully find the book a very useful adjunct in their daily assignments.

The author, Ohilebo Alexander Ojo, hails from Oke-Ora in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigerian. Born into a very prominent family of Ohilebo, his father, Johnson Ohilebo Ogunleye, a veteran photo journalist was very famous during the Nigeria Civil war which was between 1967-1970. Alexander is a promising young man who has grown through interactions and words of knowledge. He is indeed an asset to this generation. He does not believe in impossibility. His most famous words of knowledge, according to Robert H. Schuller, is “possibility thinkers take great ideas and turn the impossibilities into possibilities.” His love for writing in a period when majority of his generation of youths are taking into all sorts of criminal activities and immorality is quite applaudable and commendable.
Alexander is a graduate of Public Administration from the University of Benin, in the defunct Department of Political Science and Public Administration where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in 2014. He has been a writer since his university days, having over 5 publications to his credit and many yet to be published books as well. Lies and truth is irrelevant, the best story wins. This book titled; The Archer and His Bow is recommended to every true heart desirous of the knowledge of the history of Edo State.
“The present work on FORMATION, THE CATHOLIC PRIESTHOOD AND THE MODERN AGE: Festschrift in Honour of Rev. Fr. Anselm Jimoh Edited by Francis E. Ikhianosime and Gregory E. Ogbenika, is a realization of one of the greatest dreams of our time- the dream of keeping the fascination of the centrality of God in priestly formation alive and attractive even in modern times. [This work], therefore, beats the drum for this harvest of thoughts from the best minds you can ever imagine. It contains a college of perceptions crystallized as a thought contribution by various authors, which will survive the physical structures of generations yet to come. [This work] sounds the drum for a piece by productive academics whose productivity is marked by happy versatility, rich variety, unfailing originality, consistent incisiveness, high voltage reasoning, limpidity of style and unwavering logic.”

Objective methods of assessing candidates are currently occupying the front-burner in both undergraduate and postgraduate examinations in Medicine. This book is meant to help surgical trainees scale this difficult, but important hurdle.
The book comprises of over 2000 (two thousand) carefully-selected multiple choice questions and has endeavoured to cover all the surgical subspecialties. In addition, sample questions in the surgical-related subspecialties of Anaesthesia, Radiology and Ophthalmology have been included.
Three forms of questions are included, in line with the format of multiple choice questions in surgical examinations: true/false, single/best answer and matching questions respectively. In addition to providing answers to the questions, the author has, where necessary, added some relevant explanatory notes; hence the sobriquet: multiple choice questions that teach.
This book will, therefore, prove invaluable to both undergraduate and postgraduate candidates whose examinations encompass the entire gamut of surgical sub-specialties as well as other surgical-related disciplines.

The Impact of Corporate Governance on the Timeliness of Financial Reporting: Evidence from Nigeria, is actually a doctoral thesis report submitted and defended by the author in 2013 at the Igbinedion University, Okada, Nigeria. The study focused on the influence of corporate governance mechanisms and corporate attributes on the timeliness of financial reporting by a sample size of 219 quoted firms on the Nigerian Stock Exchange between 2009-2011 using annual and pooled data. Relevant diagnostic tests such as multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, autocorrelation, Ramsey mis-specification test and Granger Causality bi-directional relationship tests were conducted in order to eliminate all forms of spurious results. Amongst the findings is that all the firms studied exhibited gross delay in financial reporting; variables determining timeliness of financial reporting in Nigeria at the time of study were highlighted in the empirical work. The family, the community, and society seem to have abandoned their responsibilities to ensure strong educational foundation for their children. Governments driven by politics of self-interest are fostering the fall of educational standards. Regular regressive results in examinations have become the order of the day in an environment of paucity of trained teachers, and where mathematics and science teachers are scanty. There is the consequent prevalent unemployment situation in the nation. This book identifies the need for an urgent review of the National Policy on Education to take care of these deficiencies, and provide for a purpose-driven system of education.
The book points out that appropriate curricula and syllabi are potent instruments for achieving the goals of education to develop desirable citizenry. It draws attention to the facts, significance, and the realities of educational development in Nigeria as vital for progressive national transformation.
